Every report generator report is created through the various combinations of four basic components.

 

Constants - are used to aid in calculations such as multiplying or dividing by 100 or performing calculations based  upon the number of employees in the institution.

 

Ranges - are the source of the actual data to be used within a report. Through the use of the chart of accounts, the user will specify which accounts are used in obtaining the data value. In addition to the account range selection, this option allows the user to specify the source of the data, such as actual or budget, as well as the period from which the data is retrieved.

 

Calculations - are combinations of Ranges, Constants or other Calculations combined with mathematical operands to create higher level results. Calculations have an unlimited number of nesting levels.

 

Data Definitions - are the options which define the specific data to be used in the cell formula, calculation and column definitions.
