Data Capture Overview & Main Functions

The purpose of the Data Capture option is to seamlessly capture all the required data from your host system to the PC. It also provides the interface for the Portfolio Software and Service Bureau, 3rd Party Interface, and FinSer's Cash flow service and a maintenance screen for the investment inventory. Any item not maintained in an application can be entered via the Misc. Data Entry. The Data Capture option provides up to four processing function tabs.

Capture/Process

The Capture/Process tab captures and transfers all required information from the Host system to the local database (PC).

Security Import

The Security Import tab is used to request your security information from FinSer to obtain the cash flows needed for each investment.  This tab is also used to import the cash flows once FinSer has processed your request.

A third party import tab may appear if an interface for the third party is available for a client.

Security Maintenance

The Security Maintenance tab is where securities are entered and maintained for the Cash Flow Clients and viewed only for the FinSer Service Bureau/Software Clients.  For the Cash Flow Clients the security information in this tab is what will be sent to FinSer when you request your cash flows through the Security Import tab.  

Misc. Data Entry

The Misc. Data Entry tab is used to key any interest bearing general ledger items not tied to an application file and off balance sheet items.  For example:  Overdraft Protection, or any general ledger account you wish included in the A/L reports.  Example: items with maturity that are G/L only items.  This tab is also used for automated imports.
